@Edam, that couldn't hurt, and even Carpe doesn't have every T1 weapon. I agree the price should be the same and any new player can make some fast coin by just gathering. The fact that most AH are not used is tough when you are new with coin in your pocket and want to try out a cool looking weapon haha.

Oh and yeah I thought maybe the separate discord was probably due to the official one being newer and/or a habit from the bad PvP days. I just noticed the Commonwealth and Aragon guys on there chatting up new players but KP missing from the possible new players. Though I get that it is probably old and discouraging if many don't stick with the game more than a couple weeks. Just thought I would bring it up in case it was just any issue of overlooking the other channels.

The tendency to use our own discord is historical, it predates the official one.  Also back in the day when there was more PvP it was often good to have a private server so no-one knew you were online doing ops.

With regard to gear, would it help it we had a stock of reasonable priced T1 weapons and gear on the AH ?

The price would need to be the same or higher than Carpe as otherwise people from up north will simply buy up our cheap gear and move it up and resell it at Carpe/TK .  (normally if we were trying to sell for profit someone buying us out would be a good thing but if we are trying to keep stocks up for new players we want the stuff to hang around)

Well I didn't stay in TK very long partly cause I like running around and exploring but also cause Gil got on with Huran (I think) and escorted me down to KP we're Gill was. But to your questions:

With regards to how your first couple of weeks went in Main Co.. What could I do differently to make it better?

Seemed to go ok for me, but maybe have direct answers ready for some of the things Gil mentioned came up that hadn't before.

Should more items be placed in the TK vault?

I think it was well stocked, I just wasn't too comfortable taking from it, so maybe that could be clearer. I don't know how feasible it would be but maybe having 1 of each T1 weapon in there would help.

Should we be placing more things in the outlying city vaults (ie. PFU and Carpe)? Should we expand to other locations?

Carpe makes sense since it is on the way down to KP, and PFU possibly since the tutorial takes everyone just northwest of there. Another place would be Kindleburn and I think Marchmont since the "finding your path" tutorial takes everyone to those also. But all that depends on how much of the tutorials players want to do, personally I figured I would do them eventually. Might make sense to have a few characters in or near TK (even little 1k characters) since parts of the tutorials are tough as hell for a super low character to do alone. Being able to join a party and run out as a group is an entire game changer early on.

I think tagging along on an escalation real early and seeing your guys T3 characters in action is amazing and shows what us new players have to look forward to and work towards.

All in all it just seemed a little disorganized when I joined but I had been in and around TK for 2 days and a lot of hours where I didn't see another player at all, so I knew there weren't a ton of new players joining companies anyway haha. The lack of players is a serious problem though for the game but no easy fix for that and certainly not in your control.

While I am on the subject, is there a reason that we hang out and chat consistently on our own server instead of the main PFO discord? Seems any settlement could use more new players, but I might be biased ;)

Thanks both Wxcougar and Blackmoria. Hasn't been frustrating at all, and I quickly realized that there aren't a lot of new players nor players who bother to stay. I agree hopefully that changes. I tend to go all in when learning something new but don't want to be annoying, so even though everyone is very quick with there responses I am also ok to wait (no matter how impatient I might seem haha).

Congrats Dolken on your achievements!

Your most welcome.  Hopefully we have not made it too frustrating at times.  We have not had a new player who has stayed longer than a month in a very long time and so you did bring up issues we, as a settlement, had not had to consider in a very long time - like vault permissions, when do new players get promoted out of recruit status,  etc.  It was good to actually internally discuss these things because new players (hopefully) are coming.

And, you are a most excellent person - frequently on in game, willing to talk and ask questions and willing to help out.  I hope we attract more people like you in the future.

Well, it's been 1 month since I started the game and starting to feel like I at least have some idea of what I am doing and where I am going.

Got to T2 armor about a week ago, trained my first T2 attack last night, and have earned about 30 gold (though I've spent some lately).

Thanks everyone for all the help.

Hi Hoofya - Dolken can kind of fill you in on how things work around Thorne Keep until one of us can speak to you.

The short of it is that there are items in the bank that you have access to so that you do not need to pay for too much.

When you right click the door at the bank a box will pop up with several options listed across the top. Under the "Company" tab you should find a wide variety of armor, weapons, spells, ammo etc. As you progress, let one of us know if you need something specific and we will get it made for you.

Regarding Gathering - There is a bit of coin in the crafting section of the company tab. We work on the honor system. Anything you gather and would like to sell, see what the current bid value is or selling price for the last week, deposit the goods in the company vault and withdraw some coin. If you have a large amount, I have a character there that can trade with you. I made a pretty good living selling wool to Edam here at Keepers.

Currently we can use most of the things that can be gathered around Thorne Keep (TK). I am currently paying 20c for wool and 15 for any of the essence's. That should fall in line with the current pricing up there.

Thats it for now. I look forward to meeting you in game.

Price Guide

This is likely out of date but can at least get you some idea of what things were going for. It's calculated using formulas based on the raw item costs for both refined and crafted goods.  Raw is also listed for both external and internal.
