The whole Games Workshop thing doesn't seem quite as big in NI as the rest of the UK but Games Workshop definitely have a store in Belfast and there are a handful of independent retailers in the country that sell GW products including Toymaster and the North Down Wargames Centre. As a student (many many years ago now of course) I played wargames in the Student Nationals and it was hosted one year by Queens. I was competing in the Ancients category but there were Warhammer players even back then so there are bound to be some now :)

My hint is to find a GW product that you like and steer your children down that path. My son played the Lord of the Rings skirmish game which I enjoyed helping him paint the figures for more than I would have for Warhammer or WH40k.

Been awhile since this thread has been posted in - so I figured I'd do an update ;)

Tabletop wise:  I am currently GMing Legacy of Fire (in book 3) for Huran and our nephews, and GMing Mummy's Mask (in book 2) for a group of 5.  Our core gaming group is working through a homebrew and we are now in book 4 of Wrath of the Righteous.  Really enjoying Mummy's Mask and Wrath as far as the APs go. Like Legacy of Fire but the other two I am liking better.

Console wise: I have more or less finished Dark Souls 1 (I am having a difficult time with the final boss - but have completed everything else). In between getting murdered in Dark Souls 1 I am working through Assassins Creed Unity.

My pathfinder gaming group is now about half way through the Emerald Spire, trying to pick up the pace and have been managing to do a level every other Sunday. I'm also in a regular Friday group for The World of Synnibarr 3rd edition, being run by the creator Raven McCracken.

Our group just finished Reign of Winter.  Had a real good time with it.  Surprise ending with the big bad at the end being swallowed whole by a Frogomoth our high level druid summoned.

Just starting Hell's Rebels, with one session in so far.  Having fun so far.

Did the DM use the light eating aspect of the first level of Emerald Spire?

Yes, the darkness was only a minor pain. Our Group consists of 4 Nagagi, (Skald, Summoner, Titan Fighter/Barbarian and my Hunter/Investigator) a Human Inquisitor and a Wayang Magus. I used Animal Focus Bat and me and the Wayang could see without any problems.

Study... a game to avoid.   I think I could be good at that one.

My wife ( a future PFO Druid) is GM-ing her Tuesday night gaming group on a Drow campaign through Menzoberranzan.

I'm as immersed in The Elder Scrolls as ever, though I'm taking a hiatus from the single player games to explore The Elder Scrolls Online. And I'm enjoying it very much! Throw a friend request to @Serighon if you'd like to touch base in-game.

Hello all!

Hey there!  Long time no chat, it is good to hear from you again.

If you have any sub time left, you should check out our settlement.  It looks quite a bit different since we have been able to construct our own buildings.  If your not subbing currently, no worries we have pictures in the gallery you can check out :).

Currently:

Bi-monthly homebrew game running Pathfinder Modules. Currently running Rise of the Runelords where I picked up a character from a group that had broken apart when 1 member, a dear friend, passed away, and then the owner of the character I was playing passed away. Had just finished Curse of the Mummy's Mask which I played an Arcanist, and was playing Wrath of the Righteous (playing an Assassin which was forcefully relocated from a AD&D 2nd Edition campaign to the Pathfinder world by a GM who decided we should play Pathfinder instead, and yeah, I know, Pathfinder doesn't do well with evil characters but I wasn't about to throw away my character) which is on hiatus pending finishing the Runelords campaign.

Recently, within a year, started playing PFS games in a, ahem, local-ish (2 hr drive one-way) lodge, and was overjoyed when a lodge opened up in the last 2 months in a much more convenient locale. Have a lv 3 Arcanist, a Lv 2 Tactitian/Fighter, and a Lv 1 Ranger.

Experience with:

MMORPGs:

Everquest: Started playing just before release of the Kunark Expansion. Have taken breaks every now and then, but I usually come back before long.

World of Warcraft: Started playing at the start. To my mind, not quite as good as Everquest, but close. Haven't been back in a while. If I could find a good group/guild to join to party with and be able to commit to playing often, I might go back.

Star Wars: The Old Republic/Star Wars: Galaxies: Same as WoW. Miss the old Galaxies game with the crafting options.

Browser Games: Too numerous to mention.

PC Games: Baldur's Gate, Wizardry Games, old style RPG games like Ravensloft, and Krynn games.

Table Top:

Basic D&D back in the '80's, and played a couple 1st Edition AD&D, then my parents got the 'devil-worship' scare and that was that for a while. Picked it back up in college, and played some. Picked up 2nd AD&D about 10 years ago, and then some 4th Edition which led back to 2nd Edition before a GM moved group over to Pathfinder.

Dark Conspiracy: Fun, cool, and a bit scary... LOVED IT. Currently trying to develop my own game mechanics for a Dark Conspiracy-like universe with aspects taken from favorite books, popular webtoons and anime influences. (Webtoon: The Gamer, anime series Sword Art Online, and John Ringo's Princess of Wands/Queen of Wands books).

Vampire: The Masquerade.: Cool, but didn't get much into it. The whole, it's a dark world and a GM who lived to pull the rug out from underneath you when you thought you had some solid footing... And for the record, Vampires who sparkle in the sunlight should be staked and beheaded...

Deadlands: Alternate timeline of Wild West with magic and alchemy... Fun, and I keep hinting that to the GM that a break from the Pathfinder games to play a one-off would be good for us....

DIECON: If you haven't been to a Diecon Convention and live in the Midwest US, I highly recommend it. Hosted in Collinsville, IL, I played Cult of Cthuhlu, Call of Scooby Doo (FAST game), Castle & Crusades, Deadlands, Munchkin, AD&D, and QAGS.

Probably forgetting some, but when you've played as many games as I have over as many years as I've been playing, it's to be expected....

Every other Friday Pathfinder TT, rise of the runelords. It's my first ever RPG and loving it. I just started playing board games and such with some co-workers and friends last year then a few months ago they took out Pathfinder and I fell in love.

Sporadically playing Black Desert Online, when not on PFO.

I tend to go all or nothing on games and was playing mobile games for a couple years but gave them up earlier this year. I use to play tons but quit cold turkey due to college and work after that, but since my kids are getting older and doing their own things a lot I have come back to games.
